5 Bridal Haute Couture Designers You Need to Know

Finding your dream wedding dress can be both magical and stressful once you start looking everywhere; on the internet, your local bridal stores and even setting an appointment with your favorite designers.

The reason why most brides think it’s stressful is because they receive lots of suggestions from their friends and family members on how their dress should look like not to forget the hundreds of designers suggested, and that can be overwhelming to the bride.

Every bride wants to look exceptionally beautiful, glowing and unique on her big day and that’s why choosing to create your own dress with a designer is a perfect idea, and when we say designers, a lot of famous names and brands will pop up in your mind like Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, Vera Wang, Oscar De La Renta and many more.

Couture designer and owner of Maison Yeya, Yasmine Yehia, became a well-known bridal designer in the Middle East after she had participated in Ellie Saab’s Mission: Fashion LBC show. Yehya’s attention for details, use of delicate French lace, ruffles and fine crystals are what makes her designs exceptional. As a French-Egyptian, most of her designs have a European touch mixed with an inspiration from her brides. She stated once that one of her greatest creations and experiences was working on her sister’s wedding dress which she calls a masterpiece. Yehia also worked with several Arab celebrities, her most popular design was Donia Samir Ghanem’s wedding dress.


Laith Maalouf

Young Jordanian designer Laith Maalouf has a passion for photography and fashion, he decided to combine these two passions and enter the world of Haute Couture design. He studied at ESMOD École Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode and began working on his first collection during his college years. From 3D flowers to bodycon wedding dresses, Maalouf’s pieces always have a story behind them, especially when he works directly with brides who he aspires to create their dream wedding dresses that reflect their personalities. His hand embroidered and embellished dresses reflect his artistic vision.


Mak Tumang

Princess-like gowns, bold colors and ruffled skirts are Mak Tumang’s signature style. Swarovski crystals, lace, 3D flowers and beads are the elements Tumang usually uses in his designs. His creations are influenced by architecture and his love and passion for traditional costumes.


Reem Kachmar
